Calum MacLeod In Dubai

Glampitect Growth Picked Up By Scottish News

Following Glampitect’s success over the last 18 months and the recent expansion into the UAE, the UK’s number one glamping site designers have featured in numerous articles from Scottish news outlets.

In recent weeks, Glampitect have featured in Scottish Business News, Project Scot and Daily Business. All three write about Glampitect’s recent success and discuss with Co-Founder Calum MacLeod the recent move to the UAE.

The Scottish news outlets have commented on the Edinburgh company’s rapid growth since Glampitect’s inception in 2019, referring to their involvement in over 200 glamping projects across Britain.

Now Glampitect are expanding their services into the UAE, where they will help entrepreneurs set up eco-resorts comprising of various units, all with 5-star amenities.

When asked about the reasoning behind moving to the UAE, MacLeod stated: “We pride ourselves on the unparalleled service we offer our clients and are now taking our expertise to one of the most desirable and sought-after places in the world… demand is far outstripping supply.”

Glampitect made their announcement on their expansion on all their main social channels, one being a short YouTube video revealing the launch:

Co-Founder Ali Young shares his excitement on achieving this international milestone for the company: “This will allow us to promote the UK’s established glamping industry, as well as our own specialist services, to new markets and develop new products in diverse and alluring destinations.”

The statement from Young alludes to destinations such as Australia, Ireland and the USA being on Glampitects radar for new areas to expand their market into.

MacLeod and Young started in May 2019 when they set up their own glamping site, North Coast 500 Pods in Achmelvich, Scotland.

Not long after, Glampitect started to come to fruition, as MacLeod explains: “Later that year, when I was at the Glamping Show in Warwickshire, I was struck by the fact there was no-one there offering what we could provide.”

MacLeod explains the dynamic that Glampitect will have with their clients in the UAE: “We will provide the knowledge but the clients will be the decision-makers. They may have land to build on, or want us to help them secure some land within a certain budget, and we will advise accordingly on their business model… It’s completely up to them!”
